Rose Printed Maxi Dress

In today’s outfit I’m wearing a rose printed maxi dress.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. In today’s look I am wearing a rose printed maxi dress with a denim jacket and mules. When I first saw this dress I was really attracted to the beautiful rose print but was unsure of how I could make it work as an everyday dress. I have the same colour roses in my garden which I have been admiring everyday for the last few weeks, which probably influenced my purchase of this dress. Does anyone else ever do this?

My initial thought on styling this Zara rose printed maxi dress

I know the floral dress would look great with some heels for an event or night out, but as a lot of mums will know; with a busy family life it’s not always a regular thing to be able to have evenings out, so it’s nice to take a piece like this and dress it more causally for a daytime look.

My first thought was to layer a chunky knit cardigan or a sweater over this dress and pair it with some knee high or over the knee mid heel boots. The multi textured layered look of chunky knitwear and dresses is going to be a big trend for AW17 but as it’s not quite cold enough for heavy knits yet, I though a denim jacket would work well for this transition season.

I co-ordinated my denim jacket with my denim mules and paired them with the dress. I really liked the look.
