Today I’m sharing a few items on my wishlist that would make great wardrobe updates for autumn.
With the autumn season ahead there are a few simple wardrobe updates that I would like to make to my own wardrobe. By adding a few key pieces you can make use of the clothing you already have and get autumn ready. Whether shopping new or second hand this autumn, it’s good to assess what you already have in your wardrobe first before going shopping. See which pieces you already own that will be good to carry through to the next season.
You may have had some things in storage over the summer that you can unpack, or make further use of your summer dresses by layering them with knitwear or a blazer. You may also be looking to replace some basics that have become worn with a few good quality pieces to last the season.
Here are some items that I look for when the autumn season starts that I like to mix and match in my own wardrobe.
A good piece of knitwear works well with jeans and a tee or by layering over a dress. I have a few dresses that I would like to carry on wearing through autumn and a cozy cardigan or soft sweater will work wonderfully to keep me cozy and make the whole look more autuminal.
I love this long cardigan from Boden. I love how they have styled it over jeans and a white shirt but I think it would also work really well with midi dresses too.
I also love this cozy belted cardigan which is also available from Boden in the new AW19 collection.
And this grey cardigan from Joules looks great paired with the Winslet Dress, it’s a gorgeous print!
This pretty Pointelle Jumper from Fat Face comes in a number of different colours but I love the blush pink one.
If you are looking for a patterned jumper then this one from Hush is gorgeous!
I love this style of boot that goes really well with both jeans and dresses. I already have a similar pair from last year but if I was going to get another pair I would definitely be considering the Cavenham Ankle Boot from Boden.
Another great versatile boot is the Ampton Ankle Boots from Boden.
If you are looking for a pair with a low-mid heel the Burwell Ankle Boots are fab too! Love the embossed crocodile effect.
I love this teddy coat from Boden in the navy colour but it also comes in burgundy too.
If you are looking for a timeless and classic coat this season then the Astrid Long Coat from Hush looks great. I purchased a classic black coat last year and hope to keep using it for seasons to come.
Or if navy is a better option for you the Stanhope Coat from Boden is a great piece. It also comes in a plum colour and leopard print.
If you are looking for a softer take on denim jeans these velour trousers from Hush are a great option.
I find that Fat Face do great jeans and love the look of the Harlow Super Skinny Jeans.
I also always find Boden jeans to be a great fit and quality and love these Girlfriend Jeans.
I hope you like the selection and let me know your favourite pieces in the comments section below. Have a great weekend.
